􀁥 The Coach and Horses was packed out on Tuesday, April 9, when the Shakespeare branch of CAMRA presented Steve and Di Salter with a CAMRA certificate to mark the Coach and Horses being chosen as ‘Spring Pub of the Season.’ This was in recognition not only of the quality of the beer kept in the pub – the pub has also achieved cask marque accreditation – but also because of the many links that the pub has within the community. As confirmation of that, the entertainment was provided by the Harvington Ukulele Club who played and sang a variety of songs old and new.

The pub also hosts a regular over-50s Lunch Club every Thursday, and a beginners’ computer course also held on Thursdays from 11.30am.

􀁥 Coming up: Tomorrow (Friday) the village hall will be full of the sounds of Ashley Hutchings and the Rainbow Chasers. Ashley Hutchings was the founder member of both Fairport Convention and Steeleye Span, and he is now collaborating with a new generation of talented folk musicians. The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £8 and are available from John Redman on 01386 870255.
