THE April meeting of the club was held at Wulsan Hall on Thursday, April 26.

The meeting was attended by 24 members, there were two visitors, one of whom joined the club on the evening.

Unfortunately, the chairman could not attend so the meeting was conducted by Mrs Sheppard.

There were no items arising, but we had received a letter from the RSPB thanking the club for their donation following our February meeting when John Clews gave a talk on the work of the RSPB.

The speaker for the evening was Reg Moule. He chatted to the audience for an hour-and-a-half on all subjects horticultural.

There was then a discussion covering subjects from viruses to the best way to grow runner beans.

Following the drawing of the raffle, the meeting closed at 9pm.

The next meeting will be in Wulstan Hall at 7.30pm on Thursday, May 31, when the speaker will be Carol Smith talking about the Tree of Life Garden at St Richard’s Hospice.

For details, call Ann Sheppard on 01386 554162.
