The residents of Whitcroft Road, Pershore, have my sympathy (Journal, March 6).
I live in Appletree Road, which also runs from Station Road to Cherry Orchard.
A couple of years ago, having been affected by a similar situation, with elderly people and families with young children being at risk from speeding traffic, a number of residents arranged a meeting with the council and police.
The road is also an access-only road.
They came and listened and were sympathetic. Various ideas were put forward, including 'sleeping policemen'.
To date no solution has been found. I fear access-only signs are now obsolete. As the police said at the time, the filtered traffic helps ease the build up of traffic along Station Road!
Goodness only knows what will happen when all the new houses are built, resulting in even more traffic and more children attending Cherry Orchard School, especially if the double yellow lines along Cherry Orchard are implemented.
That will mean more cars attempting to park along our roads. Absolute chaos!
