I HAVE just read your informative item about the re-opening of the Abbey Bridge, and to be quite honest I am dismayed!
As predicted, the wonderful news that the bridge is now open sparked a 12-page spectacular informing us of wonders happening in Evesham.
At the risk of repetition, I will not repeat the questions that the public have raised with regard to budget, timescale, specification, contract and penalties, but just state my incredulity that John Smith appears beaming on the last page without stating any regret over the whole fiasco! He does, however, seem to have been frustrated!
I wonder that if the bridge contract had gone to plan whether his smile would have appeared at the front of the article.
