A PERSHORE Air Cadet is flying high after receiving a trophy and certificate for rising above the rest in his squadron.

Cadet corporal Adam Stockford from 233 (Pershore) Squadron was awarded the Adastral Trophy for best cadet at the 80th Royal British Legion (RBL) annual dinner, held at the Railway Inn, Defford.

He was presented with the award by youth officer for Pershore Royal British Legion, Ken Jeffries.

Mr Jeffries congratulated Adam on his award and said: “How good it was to see the youth of today being part of the Air Cadets in Pershore. It is good for us to have the close connections with the with the Air Cadet Group because they are our youth of tomorrow.”

Adam’s parents watched on proudly as he received the award. They were joined on the evening by members of the RBL women’s section, commanding officer of Pershore Air Cadets, flight lieutenant Andrew Smith and guest of honour, RBL county secretary Shaun McCarthy.
