CHILDREN have been learning the skill of lantern making in a special workshop at the Hive library.
Pupils studying at St Clement's C of E Primary School in St John's, Worcester, got creative at the workshop organised by Boffy Arts Events on Saturday.
They were taught how to use willow sticks, tissue paper and glue to create lanterns which can be used in the Hive's Christmas Lantern Parade on Friday, December 5 at 6pm.
Laura Worsfold, business development manager at the Hive, said: "The lanterns are really quite tricky to make but the children have worked really hard and made some lovely lanterns. We're really looking forward to seeing them all lit up and on mass in the parade which marks the start of the Hive's Christmas weekend."
After the parade, Christmas carols will be performed inside the Hive. Children who haven't taken part in the workshop can still join in.
A further workshop will be held at the Hive on Saturday and costs £2.50 to take part.
