PARENTS are being reminded to make sure their children have their free flu vaccination.
NHS England wants children in years seven and eight in Worcestershire to take advantage of the free painless nasal spray vaccination this winter.
The vaccine will be available until after December at local GP surgeries.
Dr Ash Banerjee, a public health consultant at NHS England, said: “The vaccine is the best possible protection against the flu virus. Not only is the nasal spray needle-free and painless, it also works even better than the injected flu vaccine with fewer side effects.
“It’s the best way of ensuring a safe and happy winter and Christmas for the whole family.”
It is expected that the nasal spray will be brought in for all children in the future.
