STOURBRIDGE Junction is part of an investigation by the British Transport Police (BTP) after a “significant amount” of cable was stolen.
Detectives from BTP are looking into 13 separate incidents of cable theft across the West Midlands between September 2014 and February this year.
The cables were taken from railway property and have caused extensive damage to the railway as well as disruption to services.
Officers want to hear about any suspicious vehicles or people in connection with the Stourbridge Junction theft which took place on December 17.
Detective Constable Sharon Starkey said: “I can't be sure when some of the thefts took place, which is why I need the public's help in reporting anything they saw that wasn't quite right.
“Those responsible took enormous risk to themselves, rail passengers and staff when removing the cable. Every offence I am investigating happened on high speed rail lines.
“I want to hear from anyone with information that could help our investigation.”
Anyone with information should contact British Transport Police on 0800 405040, or by text to 61016, quoting reference MSUB/B9 of 16/03/2015.
Information can also be passed anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
