TRAVELLERS have moved onto a field owned by the University of Worcester.
A set of five caravans appeared at the field off Pitchcroft known as The Moors, where the university’s American Football team train over the weekend.
A university spokesman said the institution’s legal team had lodged papers with the courts to remove the group, although this was expected to take a number of days to be processed.
A spokesman from West Mercia Police said officers had spoken to the group, who had told them they planned to stay there only for a few days. In the meantime officers are carrying out ‘drive-by’ patrols in the area.
Meanwhile a group of travellers who moved onto land at Perdiswell Sports Centre on Tuesday, July 14, moved on during the weekend. It is not known if this is the same group who have moved onto The Moors.
