FAMILIES can join the Hive library in Worcester for a day of enormous fun on Thursday, August 6.

From 10am until 3pm, as part of this year’s Summer Reading Challenge, children can help create the Hive's biggest doodle, take part in the biggest Rat-a-tat Tales storytime session, draw their biggest ever drawing and take part in a number of other big challenges.

The Hive will also be trying to set a Worcestershire record for the most books borrowed from the children's library in one day.

The BIG Stuff activity day is free to four to 12 year olds taking part in the Summer Reading Challenge.

Janine Downes, library manager, said: "We are really pleased with the number of children who have signed up to the Summer Reading Challenge so far. Lots of children came along to our first event 'Cool Tech' so we are expecting the library to be really busy again for all of our BIG Stuff activities. The day is really full and there is plenty for parents to get involved in too."
