TAKING over the grounds of the Mercure Kidderminster Hotel for two days, Kidderminster Horticultural Society will bring all things green, mixed with entertainment, food, and more, for this year's Country Fair and Horticultural Show.

Making sure there is something for the whole family, the society has left nothing out of their list when the show comes to the hotel on Saturday and Sunday, September 12 and 13.

Open from 10am until 5.30pm both days, with an official opening on the first day at 12noon by Midlands Today's Michael Collie and BBC Hereford and Worcester, there will be gardener's question time, floral art demonstrations, handy crafts, cookery demonstrations, wine tasting, vintage tools and vehicles on display, dog agility, and alpacas.

As for entertainment, elements dance group will be performing, there will be singing, fire eating, a birds of prey display, and a merry-go-round.

Those who get peckish have the choice are many refreshments throughout the weekend, including an all-day barbecue and homemade cakes.

There will also be a selection of stalls and business selling their goods on both days.

All money raised on the day, after expenses, will be donated to Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) and other charities. The last event put on by the Kidderminster Horticultural Society, the Garden Open Day, raised a total of £4,600 - £3,000 was donated to Acorns Children's Hospice in Worcester and £1,600 was donated to Blue Cross in Bromsgrove.

Entrance is £2.50 for adults, or free for children and there is ample parking available.
