TRAIN passengers can breathe a sigh of relief after a planned two-day strike affecting Hereford and Leominster stations was called off.
Arriva Trains Wales says an agreement was reached with unions following “last minute talks”.
Had the agreement not been reached, all Arriva services tomorrow and Friday would have been cancelled, with no rail replacement buses provided.
Arriva had said it was "hopeful" an agreement could be reached to avoid the strike but was advising passengers to make alternative transport arrangements should it go ahead.
Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT), and Aslef union members had planned the industrial action in a row over pay and conditions.
