SWIMMERS were evacuated from a Kidderminster school on Monday night after a false fire alarm.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue crews from Bewdley fire station were called to Holy Trinity School, in Birmingham Road, at around 7.30pm on September 12.

A spokesman from HWFRS said: "The swimmers were evacuated from the school building and the keyholder reset the alarm.

"The false alarm was caused by a fault on the automatic alarm system and the school was advised to call technicians."

It was a busy early evening for Wyre Forest firefighters, with Kidderminster fire station's Red Watch crew being called to assist with flooding which had affected electrics at a property in St Cecilia Close.

The crew attended the incident at around 6.30pm on Monday and found that a leak from an outside stop tap had caused the flooding to the electrics. The crew isolated the electrics and an emergency plumber was called out to deal with the situation.

Shortly before at around 6.15pm, a Kidderminster crew attended a gas leak at a home in Hurcott Road, with the firefighters removing a cylinder, while at 6.10pm, another crew from Kidderminster fire station attended a car crash in Churchill.

A spokesman from HWFRS said: "A crew from Kidderminster attended the gas leak in Hurcott Road and a butane cylinder was removed from the property.

"A National Grid engineer was also on site and they ventilated the property.

"A crew from Kidderminster attended a crash in Old School Cottage, in Churchill, involving two small vehicles.

"The scene was made safe by the firefighters and no one was trapped in the vehicle.

"West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the crash."

A spokesman from WMAS added: "We were called to the junction of Churchill Lane and Stankenbridge Lane, to reports of a two-car crash.

"We sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene.

"There was one patient, a woman, who had minor injuries. She was discharged at the scene."
