TEMPORARY traffic lights will return to Kempsey tomorrow night to allow workers to deal with a blocked sewer.
The lights will be installed on the A38 at 9pm on Monday, January 16 and Post Office Lane and the A38 junction will be closed.
While the road is closed, diversions will be set up via Brookend Lane, Old Roman Road and then into Post Office Lane.
The move is to enable workers from Severn Trent Water to clear a blocked sewer pipe on the A38 between Post Office Lane and Napleton Lane.
It is hoped the work may be finished overnight but, if not, it will continue into the day and evening on Tuesday.
The problem with the collapsed sewer was discovered in December and initial, emergency work got underway.
But the work was postponed until January after workers realised the problem needed specialist equipment to be brought in.
Tankers were drafted in to take sewage away from properties over the Christmas period.
The clearance work on the pipe, which is 16 feet below ground, started again on Tuesday, January 10.
