THE first ever Barnt Green Motor Festival has been hailed a roaring success.
Barnt Green Parish Council held the event in the village along Hewell Road on Sunday, July 2, with a display of more than 60 classic cars and 12 bikes.
A council spokesman said: “Many residents and people from the neighbouring communities came to the village to see the cars, motorbikes and scooters on display.
“With perfect weather, a convivial community spirit was evident.”
Vehicles on show ranged from steam powered to electric cars, as well as Lambretta scooters, MG sports cars, pre-war Austins and modern-day Ferraris.
The winner of the public vote for Best Car on Show was Barnt Green resident Richard Onyon for his 1979 Series 3 Land Rover, winning a magnum of prosecco.
