A HARDWORKING Kidderminster mum has been shortlisted for a prestigious award for her business.
Lilly Dilly’s in Bewdley has been named as a finalist in the Business Mum of the Year category at the prestigious Networking Mummies UK Ltd Recognition National Business Awards.
The small business is owned by mum Louise Hickman and she launched it in 2015 when her daughter Lily was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma eye cancer in 2014 – at the age of just 18 months.
Following six months of chemotherapy and ongoing thermotherapy, Lily – now aged five – is in remission.
Lilly Dilly’s allowed Louise the chance to express her creative side while balancing her challenging home life and it offers handcrafted bespoke accessories for men, women, children and pets.
She has already seen Lilly Dilly’s be awarded a clutch of gongs – most recently taking home an impressive six at the Three Counties Wedding Awards last month.
Louise will find out if she is a winner again at the Networking Mummies UK glitzy black tie awards ceremony on Saturday, May 19, at Macdonald Burlington Hotel in Birmingham where they will also be raising funds for The Brain Tumour organisation on the night.
She said: “I am so proud and honoured to have been announced a Finalist. The last three years has been a rollercoaster both personally and business wise.
“Trying to juggle being a wife, mum to a poorly child, business owner and home owner has tested me to my limits but to be recognised for that journey is amazing”
