WORCESTER County Womens Bowling Association have reached the Group Final of the prestigious Johns Trophy National Competition organised by Bowls England and sponsored by Henselite Bowls.

Worcester belongs to the South West Region and were drawn against Devon at Clevedon where they recorded a 120-102 success.

The next opponents were Cornwall and, after a very close game, Worcester had six shots to spare at the finish.

Hampshire are the next opponents next Tuesday at a venue yet to be determined.

Worcester Women's Association president Doreen Bawn staged her President's Day at Evesham last week when home players and county representatives took to the green.
