Morrow and co in top form in region

EVESHAM under 15s maintained their strong West Midlands League position.

At the halfway point, the title-chasing team, consisting of Alex Tomlinson, Craig Witheford and James Morrow, are two points clear at the top after more wins.

A crucial 6-4 victory over closest rivals Wood Green was supported by an impressive 7-2 success against Burton Uxbridge A and 9-0 wins against Colebridge Braves and Burton Uxbridge ‘D’.

Meanwhile, the latest round of Evesham and District Specsavers League Division Two games were close and exciting.

Littleton Cobras maintained their lead at the top with a 6-4 win over Bengeworth Wolves.

Cobras’ John Moore became the first player this season to defeat Wolves’ Chris Message in a tight fiveset battle.

Littleton Panthers moved up to second with wins over Littleton Giants and Wyre Warriors.

Rosie Phillpot proved the difference in a 6-4 victory against Giants, winning all her singles matches.

Wyre Warriors picked up crucial points in a draw with Littleton Bears which lifted them off the bottom of the table.

Captain Ray Griffiths led by example with a strong set of singles wins.
