THERE was no separating Evesham and Alcester as they remained joint fourth on eight points after drawing 2-2 in the Wildmoor Spa League Premier Division.
John Clarke and Chris Francis saw off Duncan Robinson and Jack Newbold 6-1, 6-1 for Evesham and lost to the unbeaten Stuart Beach and Alex Woodbridge 6-1, 6-0.
Simon Wall and Andrew Crowther put up more of a fight against Beach and Woodbridge before losing 6-0, 7-5 but thrashed Robinson and Newbold 6-0, 6-0.
Second-from-bottom Littleton lost 3-1 to Ardencote Manor with Andy Reynolds and Jack Philpot taking the single rubber by beating Christian Hardy and Tom Holland 7-6, 6-4.
Richard Herborn and Simon Blewitt fell to Hardy and Holland 7-5, 5-7, 1-0 (10-6) after a decisive championship tie-break.
Ardencote’s top pair Ben Summers and John Brain defeated Reynolds and Philpot 6-2, 6-3 and Herborn and Blewitt 6-3, 6-3.
Henley climbed to third after a 3-1 victory over bottom-of-the-table Inkberrow, who were put on the scoreboard when Matt Saunders and Jim Richardson edged out Brett Mackay and Sam Turner 7-5, 6-7, 1-0 (12-10).
However, Mackay and Turner bounced back to beat Gordon Keir and Chris Dixon 6-3, 6-1.
Max Rettallack and Neil Supperstone defeated Keir and Dixon 6-1, 6-2 and Saunders and Richardson 6-2, 1-6, 1-0 (10-8).
Stratford opened up a six-point lead at the top following a 4-0 drubbing of Claverdon.
In Division One, leaders Studley ‘A’ pulled four points clear after beating their ‘B’ side 4-0, while Pershore are second after a 4-0 victory over basement boys Shipston-on-Stour.
Chipping Campden fielded only one pair in their 3-1 loss to Snitterfield and were docked a further point.
Division Two saw Moreton-in-Marsh ‘A’ pull four points clear on 13 thanks to a 4-0 romp over Whitnash and Stratford ‘B’ remained second despite being held 2-2 by Bidford ‘A’.
FISSC consolidated their position at the Division Three summit with a 3-1 win over bottom side Chipping Campden ‘B’.
In Division Four, Snitterfield ‘B’ went top after they beat struggling Chipping Campden ‘C’ 4-0.
Alcester ‘C’ hung on to joint second spot despite being held 2-2 by mid-table Littleton ‘B’.
Inkberrow ‘C’ top Division Five after beating Bidford ‘B’ 3-1 and Pershore ‘B’ are a point behind as they drew 2-2 with third-placed HDA ‘B’.
The bottom two teams met, resulting in Wildmoor ‘B’ defeating Inkberrow ‘D’ 3-1.
