FLY-HALF Tiff Eden has praised Worcester Warriors captain Jean-Baptiste Bruzulier.
Scrum-half Bruzulier skippered Warriors on his first team debut in Sunday’s match at Nottingham.
“JB (Bruzulier) did a good job,” said Eden, who kicked 16 points in Warriors’ 26-19 success in the British and Irish Cup.
“He was loud and clear and I think the boys knew what he wanted from them. It is what you need from a captain.
“It gives you the confidence, particularly the forwards and the outside backs, to go out and express themselves.
“I am sure the guys will be hoping for another opportunity in the cup but it’s up to the coaches whether they see fit. I am sure we will all thrive if an opportunity comes our way.”
Bruzulier captained a much-changed Warriors side at Meadow Lane, which featured players from the club’s Cavaliers team.
Bruzulier is expected to lead Worcester in their second Pool Three match against Munster ‘A’ at Sixways on Saturday.
Munster also got off to a winning start in the cup, Rory Scannell booting 17 points in his side’s 27-21 home success against Moseley at the weekend.
Munster’s first team travel to Sale in the European Champions Cup on Sunday but Warriors head coach Carl Hogg is stil expecting a tough contest.
Hogg said: “Munster will be a different challenge from Nottingham.
“We will have the same format throughout the British and Irish Cup — we will look to Sam Vesty and Mefin Davies will run the team.
“We will look to pick a similar side — a developing side because we want to get strength in depth.”
