JUNIOR oval racer Olly Turner’s JASCAR season was boosted with second place at Birmingham Wheels.

The ambitious Evesham 12-year-old won the Downforce Radio Under-13s driver award for 2014 in the United Kingdom.

During the first JASCAR round at Birmingham, Turner regained his rhythm after a late mistake to make up two lost places and finish third.

He gave his trophy to Eckington driver James Wallis, who impressed on his debut.

Round two at Skegness saw Turner defending second spot until he was pushed to the wall by another driver, leading to two damaged cars.

He headed to Swaffham, Norfolk, but car problems led to him losing hold of second place in the final.

However, Turner hit back to grab a deserved second spot in the final at the fourth round in Birmingham.

He heads to Lochgelly on June 6 and 7 for the Scottish Championship. Potential sponsors are asked to visit ollyturnerracing.co.uk.
