EVESHAM’S Sally Gilder is representing Great Britain at the next stage of the Archery World Cup in Turkey.

The 18-year-old has progressed from Archery GB’s central performance academy and is now in the talent confirmation squad.

This week’s tournament will be the first senior international for Gilder, who took up the sport in 2006 and was placed second in the national junior rankings in 2013.

The Evesham Archery Club member then heads to the USA for the Youth Championships next month.

Gilder is among 16 British recurve and compound archers competing in the second stage in Antalya, Turkey, until Sunday.

The team hope to build on their experience from the previous stage of the tournament, which was held in Shanghai.

Olly Logan, head of performance at Archery GB, said: “This will be an exciting opportunity for Sally as she takes to the world stage at a senior tournament for the first time.”
