BUDDING athletes at Pershore's Holy Redeemer Primary School were feeling triumphant following the Worcestershire Youth Games.
After success at the South Worcestershire heats the girls' under 11s athletics team took silver and the hockey team claimed gold.
Headteacher Christina Hall said: "This is an especially great achievement as the hockey was a year three/four tournament and so the year three team were competing against older children.
"For the athletics team to come second, beaten by a mere 10 points, is a brilliant achievement for the children and their coach."
The school qualified for the year six and year five boys and year five girls cross-country running with Chloe Barnard and Jack Porter finishing in the top eight in their categories.
They will now be allocated a county coach and go on to represent Worcestershire at national level.
Class-mates Caoimhe Guppy and David Annis also performed well, finishing 13th and 16th respectively in their categories.
