EVESHAM United lost 2-0 at Paulton Rovers in Evo-Stik Southern League Division One West.

The hosts took the lead in just the second minute when a long cross by Joe Guest led to Kailan Gould hitting a half-volley past keeper Kevin Sawyer.

Thirty minutes in Evesham nearly levelled as a header from Leroy Odeiro was turned for a corner by defender Sam Hedges.

The visitors' Adam Mann hit the inside of the post from a 20-yard free-kick with the keeper well beaten.

Then Greg Peel spurned a chance on 46 minutes when he blasted over the bar.

But Sawyer was in action again at the other end with a couple of good saves.

And Paulton made it 2-0 on 74 minutes as Dean Evans' right-wing corner was met by a header from Hedges past Sawyer.

The Paulton keeper brilliantly tipped over a pile-driver by sub Jordan Lymn later on.

Evesham's next game is on Tuesday at home to North Leigh (7.45pm).
