EVESHAM United rediscovered their goal-scoring touch as both strikers netted in an entertaining 3-2 win over North Leigh last night.

The Jubilee Stadium success moved the Robins up to eighth in Southern League Division One West ahead of a blank weekend due to their FA Cup exit.

The game started at a high tempo and George Seacole strolled onto a Sam Mendes cross to beat stranded Evesham keeper Kevin Sawyer after just eight minutes.

But then eight minutes later Linden Dovey picked out Jordan Bryan and his cross was converted with ease by summer signing Greg Peel to level.

Adam Mann’s shot was blocked by former Robin Will Wellon.

Fine passing from Evesham saw Lewis Binns' powerful shot parried by keeper Manny Agboola only to be fired in by Peel to give them the lead on 35 minutes.

The Robins kept applying pressure and extended their lead in the 65th minute with Mann glancing home a header from another Bryan cross.

North Leigh cut the deficit in the 77th minute when an uncharacteristic mistake by Sawyer gifted Liam Carroll a goal.

But Evesham could have wrapped the game up when Binns fired wide and Agboola denied substitute Carl Brown.

Evesham: Sawyer, Dovey, Bennett, A Williams (Brown 78), M Williams (Odeiro 34), Liddiard, Bryan (Lymn 67), Haskayne, Peel, Mann, Binns. Subs not used: Fahy, Gray.

Attendance: 286.
