A SWIMMER from Littleton is celebrating after collecting a brace of medals at the FINA World Masters Swimming Championships in Budapest.

Jacqueline Grace, 55, who trains daily at Evesham Leisure Centre, headed to the Hungarian capital to represent her country in the 50, 100 and 200 metres backstroke.

The events were hotly contested with 34 in the 100m and 32 in the 200m.

Grace, who had to achieve qualifying standards to represent Great Britain, put in some fast times in the heats to get through to the final races.

Her hard work paid off and with some close finals she was delighted to come away with bronze medals in the 100m and 200m.

Grace, who swims for Kenilworth Masters, was delighted to come home with two medals and promises to bring them into Cleeve Prior First School where she works as a teaching assistant.
