EVESHAM took the Victor Ludorum at a major competition for the second time this season.

The junior and senior squads, coached by Pauline Pollard, Jacob Organ and Dave Parkin, travelled to Cardiff to compete in the Llandaff Regatta on the River Taff in the 1,000-metre and 500m events over two days.

Over the longer course, Isla Grelak in her single, double scullers Martha Robbins and Charlie Akerman and quad Poppy Cullen, Georgie Banton, Charlie Akerman and Martha Robbins coxed by Mimi Farrell seized first places.

The shorter course gave the crews the opportunity to demonstrate their sprinting skills and another 13 wins were recorded.

Juniors Sam McClenahan, Toby Haycock and Ella Shalom and seniors Dave Pollard and Libby Akerman were first in their singles events.

Doubles winners were Ollie Parr with Tom Hill and Becca Parkin with Shalom for the juniors together with seniors Scott Taylor with Mark Repton, winning by just a canvas, and Rosie Macdonald with Libby Akerman.

Junior quads McClenahan, Hill, Parr and Duncan Repton coxed by Emma Parkin, Liv Evans, Sacha Wilson, Parkin and Rachel Egan coxed by Hill and Cullen, Banton, Charlie Akerman and Robbins coxed by Farrell were also successful.

Seniors Macdonald, Mal Jablonska, Amanda Baker and Julie Foster took the win total to 16 to beat Gloucester and Ross into second and third places respectively overall.
