EVESHAM rowers celebrated the last regatta of the season with nine wins and 17 second places in two days.

At Ross-on-Wye they added to the successes of the Victor Ludorum at The Ball Cup, Stratford Regatta and Llandaff Regatta.

Despite horrendous weather, Matt Oliver and Toby Haycock mastered the 550-metre downstream course to beat their opponents from Ross.

Doubles Emily Jones and Katie Ham and Becca Parkin and Ella Shalom overcame strong competition in their heats to win convincingly.

Masters Debz Staite and Hazel Cabena beat rivals Liverpool Victoria by two lengths and WJ16 quad Becca Parkin, Evie Nutton, Hannah Jones and Ella Shalom beat the same club with ease.

The longer 750m sprint saw Ham and Jones beat club-mates Martha Robbins and Charlie Akerman.

Staite and Cabena in a different category defeated Liverpool Victoria, Staite in her single beat club-mate Tracy Stapleton and the WJ16 quad again saw off Liverpool Victoria.

The WJ16 crew has had a successful season with wins now at Ross, Stourport, Stratford and a fourth place in their A Final at the British Junior Rowing Championships while between them achieving 43 A* or 9s in their GCSEs.
