An England cricket legend and former captain is set to guest speak at a special dinner.

Allan Lamb will attend the event, scheduled for Friday, June 28 at the Worcestershire County Cricket Club, as part of Joe Leach's Testimonial Season festivities.

Proceeds will help support grassroots cricket projects in South Africa.

The Lamb & Flag Worcester will sponsor the dinner.

In a career spanning from 1982 to 1992, 'Lamby' played in 79 test matches, 128 one-day internationals, and captained England three times against the likes of the West Indies and Australia.

He also skippered the Northampton CC from 1989 to 1994.

In his career Lamb scored 4,654 test runs, including 14 centuries, and 33,502 first-class runs with 89 first-class hundreds.

He was named 'Cricketer of the Year' in 1980.

Aside from his sporting fame, Lamb is also a popular personality in the sport.

Renowned for his wit and charm, Lamb will share some entertaining tales from his career.

Besides Lamby's speech, guests are in for a three-course meal, live music, an auction, and some competitions.

Broadcaster, Frank Watson of BBC H&W, will host the event.
