West Midlands Police 1, Littleton 5

LITTLETON increased their lead at the top of Athium Midland Combination Division One to 10 points with an emphatic victory at West Midlands Police.

In probably their best display of the season, the visitors almost took the lead in the first minute when Jamie Clarke’s effort was scrambled clear.

But Littleton did not have to wait long as, on seven minutes, Marian Kudlik released Clarke who confidently slid the ball past the advancing keeper.

Three minutes later, Clarke crossed into the penalty area and Kudlik coolly shot home from close range.

Chris Mills side-footed a volley from Dan Trotman’s cross into the roof of the net on 20 minutes before Kudlik calmly steered home the fourth goal just before half-time.

The second period was an anti-climax as the Police tightened up.

On the stroke of full-time, the hosts reduced the arrears only for Littleton to restore the four-goal margin through Ciaran Gilbert.

On Saturday, holders Littleton are at home to Alvis in the President’s Cup quarter-finals (2pm).
