EVESHAM drew first blood as they won the first leg of a rugby sevens tournament also involving hosts Bredon Star, Upton, and Pershore.
The Albert Road side defeated all three of their opponents, who will each stage a round of the four-way competition. Bredon Star were second with Upton third and Pershore fourth.
Evesham host the next round on Friday, July 6, at 7pm.
Bredon Star’s senior team are preparing for their first season in Gloucestershire League Division Two, while the minis and juniors section caters for seven to 16 year olds.
