OUTGOING manager Paul West says Evesham United must be realistic with their aims when they appoint a new boss.

After the Evo-Stik Southern Football League Division One South and West season finished with Saturday’s 2-0 win at Taunton, West stepped up to become director of football.

The Robins hope to appoint his replacement by mid-May but West warned against expecting success overnight.

Evesham finished 14th and are adjusting to life at the Spiers and Hartwell Jubilee Stadium which is home to all their junior teams.

West said: “It’s important the next manager is given the backing of the club and a lot of common sense is used.”

He added: “We have to be realistic with our ambitions.”

  • Evesham United are holding a bingo night tomorrow at 7.30pm and entry to the event is free.
