MANAGER Paul Collicutt admitted Evesham United will have a job on their hands to nullify the threat of Tiverton Town hitman Levi Landricombe on Saturday (3pm).

The in-form striker scored all four of Tiverton’s goals, including a late winner, on Tuesday night as his side defeated Mangotsfield United.

And Collicutt says the Robins will form a plan to stop Landricombe at Ladysmead as they attempt to overcome their opponents, who have not lost in the Evo-Stik Southern Football League Division One South and West since August.

“We know it is going to be an open game on Saturday as Tiverton are a good footballing side,” he said.

“They had a good win in mid-week and one of their strikers (Landricombe) scored all four goals.

“I have spoken to somebody who was at Tiverton’s game on Tuesday evening and they told me the lad was a handful, so we have certainly got to keep an eye on him.”

Evesham are also on a good run of form having extended their unbeaten run to five games, leaving them tenth in the table.

However, Collicutt said his players will need to improve on the performance which saw them draw 1-1 to Slimbridge at the Spiers and Hartwell Jubilee Stadium on Tuesday night if they are to stand a chance of beating the third-placed hosts.

“I have to give Slimbridge ten out of ten for the amount of effort they put in on Tuesday night,” he said.

“But that’s what we have got to expect, especially when teams come to the Jubilee.

“They made life very difficult for ourselves and unfortunately on the night we did not perform at the heights we had reached in recent games.

“But the main thing is we are undefeated in five games. We are away at Tiverton next and we are really looking forward to that one.”
