PERSHORE Town’s seven-match winning run was ended by a 3-0 Bank Holiday defeat to high-flying county rivals Bromsgrove Sporting.
The visitors scored three goals in a 20-minute second-half spell in the Midland League Division One encounter.
A crowd of 212 at the Winstanley King George V Stadium enjoyed a good, even first-half with both keepers making two good saves each to keep the scores level.
Sporting went ahead through a Steve Webb own goal followed by Aaron Williams and Lewis Clarke strikes to keep them on the heels of Highgate in the promotion race.
Tenth-placed Town have a derby at Littleton on Saturday (3pm).
Littleton slipped to 14th with a 3-1 home defeat to another high-flier in Bolehall Swifts.
Luke Rowlands scored the only goal for the Vale side, who also host Racing Club Warwick next Wednesday (7.45pm).
Badsey Rangers lost 2-1 at Stratford in Division Three on Monday.
