EVESHAM’S Cameron Brodie faces top senior competitors in the British Swimming Championships at London Aquatics Centre.

Brodie will focus on his favoured 200-metre butterfly event at the 2012 Olympic venue next Wednesday.

The Scottish international enjoyed a pivotal 2014 with fourth place at the Commonwealth Games.

Following tough winter training, Brodie, 22, has enjoyed podium finishes in Belgium and France.

He won the British Universities and Colleges Sport Championships in Sheffield, beating his own record with one minute 57.9 seconds.

Brodie said: “It’s clear evidence I am in top form right now. The qualifying time required for an automatic place in the team (for the world championships) is a tough 1.55.5.

“In all my competitions this year, I have been in full training and the aching muscles restrict the times that can be achieved. The focus has always been London and my body will be in great shape then, allowing me to perform at my best.”
