A FLADBURY Paddle Club duo raced for Great Britain at the Baku 2015 European Games in Azerbaijan.
Team GB debutant Chris Calvert gave a good performance in the C1 200 metres semi-finals and was just a fraction off his personal best as he qualified for the ‘B’ final with a sixth-place finish.
The 24-year-old from Pershore, who is coached in the Vale by Steve Train, had been fifth in heat two and managed eighth in his final.
There was also a good display from the club’s James Styan in the C1 1,000m as the Evesham 25-year-old made the semi-finals with fifth position in heat two and finished seventh after knocking three seconds off his best time.
The canoe sprint regatta was held in Mingachevir.
