EVESHAM sealed a 3-1 victory over bottom-of-the-table Moreton-in-Marsh in the fifth round of the men’s Wildmoor Spa Summer Tennis League.
Evesham duo Andrew Crowther and Chris Francis overcame James Elliott and Gary Jackson (Moreton) 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 and then defeated Chris Elliott and Brian Lomas (Moreton) 6-1, 6-2.
Julian Heath and John Clarke (Evesham) beat Elliott and Lomas 6-3, 6-2 but lost to Elliott and Jackson 4-6, 2-6.
Chipping Campden remain top of Division One after being held to a 2-2 draw by fourth-placed Claverdon, who were playing on their home courts.
Littleton overtook Pershore to take third place after they soundly defeated bottom side Snitterfield by a convincing 4-0 scoreline.
Pershore were held to a 2-2 draw by Ardencote B Shipston A moved up to third place in Division Two after a 3-1 win over sixth-placed Snitterfield B.
In Division Three, Chipping Campden B moved to within a point of table-topping Warwick and are third after a 3-1 win over Pershore B.
Newly-promoted Bidford A continued their recent good form and stretched their lead in Division Four to five points.
They now have 20 league points after beating Moreton-in-Marsh B 4-0.
In Division Five, Shipston-on-Stour B stayed top with 16 points and Chipping Campden C are second, with 14 points, after both recorded victories.
Shipston achieved a 3-1 away success against Warwickshire County Council, while Campden won 4-0 at home to Inkberrow D.
