FIFTY-four couples from 24 different clubs, including two from Italy, contested the annual Evesham seniors mixed tournament.

The home club’s men’s vice-captain Geoff Insall and his wife Sandy carried off the cup with a winning score of 34 points despite a challenging stroke allowance.

On 33 separated by countback were runners-up Neil Croft and Val Lemon (Evesham) followed by Bob Griffiths and Angela Fletcher (Bewdley Pines/Evesham) and Roger and Jan Bagley (Evesham).

The seniors lost 5-1 at Tewkesbury Park with only their captain Mike Abraham and Mike Brumage winning.
