FOUR Worcester Warriors academy players will line up for England under 16s against Wales on Sunday.
Beck Cutting and Nick David have both been named in the starting XV for the match at the Centre for Sporting Excellence in Caerphilly (2.30pm), while James Scott and Ted Hill are among the replacements.
The quartet have earned their selection after impressing coaches at the Wellington Festival in Berkshire, which brought together players from four regions.
Head coach Stephen Shortland said: “It’s a great challenge to play away from home in these fixtures. It’s a taste of additional competition and it will be a step up from the Wellington Festival.
“Those players that have been selected to wear that England shirt have a great opportunity.
“It’s still a development process — not everything rests of this fixture — but if we get the processes right, the score should follow.”
Of the Wellington Festival, he said: “I would say it’s probably the highest standard it has been since I’ve been involved.”
