CHILDREN at Bidford Primary School swapped their usual uniforms for wetsuits and snow suits as part of an Explorers and Adventurers Day. The event last week marked the launch of a new topic for the pupils. As part of the day, children came to school dressed as explorers and completed a photo-based orienteering course. They also met caver Sarah Westmacott who talked about cave exploration before they took a look at the lives of seafarers through history. Teacher Nikki Preston said: “They enjoyed tasting different spices and made ship’s biscuits. Most of the children liked them but were glad they were not maggot-infested like they used to be!”
